So no new breakthroughs unfortunately. Was the mod they were planning on for wiring made eventually? Then I mean the one where they messaged some people from the wiring community for. I like it that they messaged me about it, while I only (tried) to discover how it exactly worked. I never made fancy machines with exception of the engines I wanted to compare perhaps.

Sorry for my late reply, but every time I thought about terraria again I was either at work or doing sport.

You should've joined the raffle contest, should've won, should've had the title: The Wiring King

        Nuxohiz
How do you know that I didn't joined the raffle?

I did planned on entering the raffle contest, but couldn't think of a nice story of how I began playing terraria when I saw it for the first time. After that I didn't paid much attention to it anymore. If I had joined and would have won the word wire or wiring would have been in the title yes.

Since I had to reinstall my OS I didn't spent much time on terraria, so it's good that I didn't won. Active people deserve the title more than me.

Discovery by Thedeviant: (could maybe be used in traps since people won't expect it)
"Also: Interestingly enough, it appears that when Boulders have to bounce on a single block at the edge of the world, they bounce in the other direction."

So, in THEORY, with a trap at the ocean you could make boulders double-back to finish you off? That would be great, as the surprise combined with the disorientating effect of the character not being on the middle of the screen would make for a quite effective trap.

If you wouldn't carry an cobalt shield or something yes. You would be knocked off something by the boulder and while falling down you will be hit again.
The boulder is losing height while making the turn, so it can only hit a person twice if the person is losing height as well. I never tested the reversal myself.

I definitely see your point - I too have meandered from the game more and more. I still want to play, I think, but whenever I do it just isn't too appealing - I want more wiring to play around with.

(Side note: I made a housing on the Aperture server some time ago and noticed afterwards that I built it quite close to your abode. You have got yourself a fairly well hidden neighbour!)

I will look or I can find it now. Is it easy to enter when you know where the entrance is? So not that you have to mine a hellavator first? :p

It's quite easy to find and enter, you just have to look carefully. :)

18 pages long article about engines is finished. All that's left to do prior to publishing is creating the schematics and upload them.

True. I also like it that the article I got returned didn't became completely red this time xD
Only thing I'm not completely satisfied with is the title. It doesn't create a lot of curiosity.

Next thing I will do is probably updating my multiple cool down thread since the entire fish farm section is outdated (because I didn't used a thin layer of lava).

First things first however and that's going to bed, waking up and studying an entire day so I don't have to look to terraria (although I probably can't resist looking or there are replies at the new thread).

Ha, that's fair enough! Though, to be perfectly frank, this one wasn't composed of the same amount of large bodies of text. :p

Good night! You're well deserving of some rest.

Basic speed of a terraria player measured: 22,12 feet per second. The wiki says 22.72 f/s. They probably got it from the code.

When boosting the speed I also discovered that the following part at the wiki is incorrect:
"The Hermes Boots and Spectre Boots build up to a fixed speed of max movement speed (possibly higher like the hooks but need verification). Using movement boosts with one of the two boots only speeds up the boots' effect."

      3. Nuxohiz
        Nuxohiz
When you have all the items that they say that improves the movement speed and even more and on top of that you equip spectre boots your speed will increase. So with spectre boots you go faster than the 'maximum speed'.

When using the the grapphling hook/ivy whip/dual hook you also see that you go much fast when 'pulling it in' than when you are just running with spectres boots. So with hook you are even faster than with only spectre boots, but that's something many people know I assume. Although the wiki say that it's probably the other way around...

And yes, would be nice if you could have some kind of peaceful option to disable natural monsters, but not those from statues, to spawn.

I want it too look like an underground ruin and will have multiple different background walls. But maybe I could make one big underground house of it. Then I have the freedom to do with the wiring whatever I want and are not limited to logic gates using birds.
        Thanks for the idea.

I suck in maths, but I came up with one. Hopefully I can do the 20. I already know a nice one for that, but I'm afraid that I forgot it by the time were are at 20 if we ever get there.

The vast majority at the forum is younger than us and most terrarian players are not really interested in mathematics in their free time :p

Had you post it at a mathematics forum, then you would have been at 54 already :p

It doesn't matter whether you consider yourself good at maths - it's just a game! :D

I did once post this very game in the mathematics section of a forum (which is gone nowadays, I'm afraid) and it got really rather popular. Before the forum quit we were in the mid 100's. :)

Such a guide, despite not furthering the understanding of wiring, would certainly be of importance for the growth and wellbeing of the forum. If you'd like, apropos of that, I'd be happy to proofread it for you when you feel you are done!

I will start writing soon (after reading what has been post last night). When it's finished I will send it to you before posting, in case you have some important things to add. The more people agree with the guidelines in the 'how to write a guide' guide the better.
I won't write it in Oxford English however since the people who are not so good in English should be able to understand it as well.
