        Just about finished with both dungeons! Woop! Got more of the mid/late story in. Now, the end awaits.

        Yep, finished writing the ending last night. Catching some bugs in the mod and working on getting mod items to appear in the guide wiki, also some items weren't appearing to be craftable. Fixing all that. So, hopefully this beta should be pretty polished...

      Wow, slow progress today. Rechecked 2 of the mod bosses and realized they needed projectile tweaking. Took me all night, but they're done!

        Yea I spent like 2-3 hours trying to fix 3 really stupid mod bugs last night. Fixed the main one last night and the other 2 today though. Really glad I'm catching some of these things so you guys don't have to mess with them.

        One of them was a heal life spell tome that was disappearing when you used quick heal. Would suck to lose 6000 souls worth of an item like that. :p

        Let's see it's the 22nd. I can guarante you will have a beta in your hands before May. Hopefully in a few days. Pretty much done w the desert dungeon. The extra time has def been worth it. I want to make sure there are 'awe' moments all the way to the last boss fight.

      Ahhh I love remixing frikin' bosses!!! So much fun. See now.if people stopped releasing badass bosses I wouldn't get side-tracked so much :p

        Massive respect to Omnir for releasing yet another sick ass boss (Kraken) Ahhh the remix is sweet. I just turned an animated fairy sprite into a nice looking plasma orb projectile. Heh, well people are gonna have plenty to do in this map. Up to 4 hidden bosses now.

        There won't be any easy farming opportunities though, that's game breaking. Most enemies will drop a small to moderate amount, and the togher ones will drop a little bit more.

        Only bosses drop a lot, but it will be a game rule to only defeat each boss once (extra summoning items in case you die).. except for EoW which the player can kill 4 times, or from any orbs I've placed later in the game. but it's souls are reduced to compensate.

        One nice benefit of this whole mechanic, is that killing enemies always has a reward now, not just to advance farther down the path. And when you die, you're still racking up souls on the way to your dropped souls. So you're always progressing (other than when you die twice without recovery, of course) xD

      Took another big stride on the map tonight, getting items in all their chests and more rooms of the dungeons.

        Lol :D there's no digging or mining in the adventure :p subtract mining time from a normal playthrough and I'd guess that, ahh that's still prolly not a good measure. We will see soon! But I'm still thinking around 10 hrs give or take?

        It's an interesting idea, and I've thought about it, though I haven't tried implementing it yet. Would definitely be way cool though to make some hidden secrets that way. I'm going to try and focus on finishing the core experience at this point so beta can get rolling and one see this thing get released. :D

        I'd like the beta experience to be pretty smooth so I'm going to try to go through the game once myself to hash out all the small obvious stuff and then let the beta feedback help me with balancing and anything I missed.

      Wow, just checked out W1k's new boss last night. It is frik'n amazing sauce and yes it is definitely going in the map with a couple remixes.

        As for boss progression, every dungeon will have a boss at the end (save for 1 at the least, maybe 2) and towards the end you will be hunting the final bosses (2 main without dungeons) and a couple optional bosses you will have to find through exploring.

        Towards the end players will be wanting to level up their characters with better end-game gear (offering a big incentive for fighting all the bosses, which will be the best way to level up by that point in the game) so there will be exploration, finding bosses, preparing for the boss battles, and preparing for the final fight.

        But with any luck the pacing should be spread pretty evenly, as the game will get less linear and open up more options towards the end as well. Players could dungeon farm, or explore, or fight, or take a break and build a house in the mountains and get away from it all for a bit ;D

      Balancing over a dozen armor stats and progressions.. melee crit,ranged, magic damage.. balanced with this? and this? and this? Arrrghgh xD

      Made some progress on the story, tying up how you get to the final (new) boss. Polishing, tweaking, adding more visual detail here and there

        I want it to be a challenge but yeah I hope it finds the right balance. Also, I want periods of badassery mixed with new difficulties, so there's a mix of flows. All this should get worked out during beta. But yeah.. somewhere in between just right??? :D

        I would say... many moments. :) Also the final boss was custom designed and is a ton of fun to play (especially melee style), as it is entirely skill based (all attacks can be dodged but you have to stay on your toes and dance like a zen warrior to defeat him) and the AI patterns are nicely varied and unpredictable.
