I find your notation for division curious, by the way: I have never seen the colon (:) used as the division operator before you did so. For me it means a ratio, hence 24 : 2 would be 12 : 1, that is the type of thing you see describing the scale of a map.

Hm, i only saw the "/" as a division operator in C++, that means i thought that appearance of the operator would only be for programming. I often saw the ":" as a division operator IRL, though. Thanks for telling me, since i will then use the "/" instead of ":" to prevent any further misunderstandings ;)

Are you sure you aren't confusing : with ÷? That said, it doesn't matter too much - we are understanding each other anyway. :)
