Always a joy to find someone who knows the game.

That is, since I was ten years old, my favorite 8-bit title of all time. More than know it, I love it.

Same. It left an (obvious) impact on me.
I've always wished they would remake it.

Some years ago I attempted to remake the game in Neverwinter Nights toolset but it kind of fell through.
I'm still holding out for a fan re-make someday.
There's some pretty cool music remixes out there too.

I did a complete book of drawings that recreated all of the monsters and characters, and it got rained on, thus destroyed. It was some of my best work, and it's destruction smashed my soul. We are probably meant to meet.

That's...really sad and unfortunate. : /

I use to draw quite a bit in high school, so I know what you're talking about there. It's tough pouring yourself so much into something then to have have it torn down by someone else.

There's always the butchered Game Boy Color port.

It's an overlooked game. It came when Genesis/SNES was on the scene, I think, and is a bit more fun than many 16 bit games.

The only problem with it, is it's a bit easy.

That remake was so horrid in every way.

I never played that one, just the NES version. I would love to see a remake, something overhead and simple.

Avoid it like the plague.
They changed the story, the music, altered the color palette and sucked most of the essence from the original that made it fun.

Oh don't worry. I know to avoid that specific remake, I was talking about something entirely new. I really liked the Megaman style charge mechanic, for example. The game had favorable features.
