    WHAT IS
    This is a weapons (and other things) pack very loosely based on my previous weapons pack, the only major difference being this one focusses more on the generally lacking ranged and magic stuff. SO HERE IS.

    Archery
    [IMG]
    Longbows! You pull them back and then fire them for massive damages!
    [IMG]
    Hardmode bows can be fired as soon as they are fully charged for massiver damages!

    [IMG]
    Extra arrow types and things:
    +Cupids arrow: Confuses enemies.
    +Seeker arrow: Bounces like meteor shot.
    +Crude Wooden Arrow: Cheap wooden arrows that can drop in mid-air.
    +Crystal arrow: Think crystal bullets.
    +Trickster's Arrow: Magical arrow that costs mana to fire.

    [IMG]
    +Quivers made from leather can be crafted to make arrows that stack to 1000.

    Super good magicks!
    [IMG]
    [IMG]
    +Animal Staff: Turns you into an animal, which can fit in 2x1 gaps. (credits to supeh mario for some cool sprites)
    +Staff of Deluge: Fires a water ball which makes water... could be useful for something perhaps.
    +Luminus: Bathes the area within line of sight with red. Great for boss fights and such.
    +Regenerate: Slow heal using mana (possible non-overpowered heal)

    Super evil magicks!
    +Magician's Hat: Spawns random funny things. Expect birds and bunnies. Or not. You can also wear it if you feel so inclined.
    +Mana Blast: Stick a mana crystal on a stick. Effectively a magic boomerang as it restores mana if you hit something.
    +Binding Bubble: Traps enemies in bubbles. Great for parties.
    +Scalding Ring: A spinning ring that moves along walls.
    +Infernal Vortex: Forms a shield around you when channeled and fires them all off when released. Like the bubbline in Cave Story.
    +Fire Bolt: Traces a laser which after a brief delay, explodes.
    +Crescent Wave: Magical shotgun with large knockback.
    +Spectral Jump: Fires a projection which you teleport to. Can be used in place of a grappling hook.
    +Maleficient Inferno: Creates a rain of fireballs.
    +Beast Curse: PVP weapon that can turn enemy players into animals for better or for worse.

    Some melee/ranged stuff
    +Yo-yo: Hopefully self-explanatory, uses a custom usestyle shared with other items below.
    +Oshuriken: Big shuriken on a chain - can be thrown and retracted like a boomerang.
    +The Dreamstealer: Like Oshuriken but faster and can't be thrown.
    +Yoen: Fiery version of above, applies fire.
    +Binary Blades: Hallow yoyo all the way.

    The hardmode stuff can switch between melee and ranged by aiming the mouse close or far from the player, which will determine if the weapon is swung or thrown.
    [IMG]
    +Flowing Fuuma Shuriken: Large boomerang shuriken that doesn't slow down in liquids.
    +Razerwind: Awkward to throw boomerang shuriken that creates chain lightning.
    +Scorched Terraria: Relatively normal - applies cursed inferno.
    +Grand Fuuma Shuriken: High tier, high damage, very big.
    Various other assorted things
    +Flak Shot: Triple shot bullets.
    +Wooden Slingshot: Easy to craft beginner ranged weapon.
    +Blazing Slingshot: Hellstone slingshot.
    +Pebble: Low damage, readily available.
    +Ebonpellet: Pebbles, but eviler!
    +Pearlbead: Pebbles, but shinier!
    +Bangsnaps: They explode.
    +Gel Bomblet: Mini gel bombs for the slingshot (see gel bomb).
    +Iron Flechette: Actually decent damaging ammo.
    +Vile Flechette: Heavier damage ammo.

    [IMG]
    +Crude Healing/Mana/Restoration Potions: Ported over from the mounts pack because it makes more sense. Is basically for when glowing mushrooms are in plentiful supply but normal ones aren't.

    +El Dorado: Uses 8 copper per shot, but doesn't consume ammo.
    +Flare Gun: Fires glowsticks.
    +Gel Bomb: Slows things down and makes flying enemies fall faster
    +Ravestick: Disco glowsticks, acts as hardmode ammo for the flaregun dealing double damage..
    +Disco Flail: It's a disco ball on a chain - what not to love?

    [IMG]
    +Immaterial Blade: Yours truly.

    [IMG]
    +Band of Flames: Applies cursed inferno to basic melee weapons, boosts melee damage. For those who enjoy making the weapons GREEN and FIRE.

    [IMG]
    +Mirror Badge: Reflects projectiles using mana, actually works in PVP for once.

    Some NPCs
    +Lafayette: Rare spawn underground. Drops the Magician's Hat.
    +Slime Whelk: Moves along walls and floors. Will try to get the drop on you if possible and hides in its shell for a defence boost.
    +Slime Crawler: Bigger version - drops Reflective Stone for making the mirror badge.
    +Lava Crawler: Spawns in the underworld and leaves a burning trail behind it. - drops Fire Bolt.

    This mod is awesome.
    And seeing that my username was mentioned twice can only make this mod better for me.

    About the Animal Staff (personal favorite), what determines the animal I'm going to transform in? It seems to be character-specific (as in a character cannot transform in an animal other than a Pig). May we have more details on it?

    The code will generate a random set number using the appearances of the player as a seed.
    Code:
            float random = 0f;
            int seed = 0;
            seed += player.hair * 128;
            seed += player.name.Length * 16;
            seed += player.hairColor.R + player.hairColor.G * 2 + player.hairColor.B * 3;
            seed += player.eyeColor.R + player.eyeColor.G + player.eyeColor.B;
            seed += player.skinColor.R + player.skinColor.G * 2 + player.skinColor.B * 3;
            seed += (int)((player.shirtColor.R + player.shirtColor.G * 2 + player.shirtColor.B * 3) * 0.05f);
            seed += (int)((player.underShirtColor.R * 2 + player.underShirtColor.G * 3 + player.underShirtColor.B) * 0.05f);
            seed += (int)((player.pantsColor.R * 2 + player.pantsColor.G + player.pantsColor.B * 3) * 0.1f);
            seed += (int)((player.shoeColor.R + player.shoeColor.G * 2 + player.shoeColor.B * 3) * 0.01f);
            while(seed > 1)
            {
                if(random >= 1)
                {
                    random -= 0.9989f;
                }
                else
                {
                    random += 0.0011f;
                }
                seed--;
            }
            int num = (int)(12 * random);//any animal between 0 and 11
            while(num > 11) num -= 11;
            ModPlayer.animalType[player.whoAmi] = num;
            Texture2D myAnimal = Main.goreTexture[Config.goreID["animal"+ModPlayer.animalType[player.whoAmi]]];
    A player will only ever be one animal, but there are several animals the code can choose from so different players can get different animals. Ideally there will be more in the future so more to randomly choose from. Alternatively, I can see if a system is feasible to let you transform into a specific animal (like a special stone or something which forces a certain animal type).

  14. Kandrark

    Kandrark Squirrel

    Awesome mod! I've played with some friends yesterday and i noticed three little bugs:

    One was with the spell "Luminus". The main Light only show up the upper half.
    The other one was with the Hallowed "Scorched Terraria" (Forgot the name :p). When i throw it, the sprite isn't show correctly.
    And the last one was with the flare gun. The projectiles doesn't have the shape of a glowstick, but of "little dots".

    But, again, awesome mod, love playing with this!

    (Sorry if my english is bad, it isn't my native language)

    Not sure about the first two, but the third error happens occasionally involving only displaying the hitbox part of the sprite and can be fixed by simply restarting tConfig. I will try to investigate - but thanks for reporting and as always, continue testing!

    Perhaps a sort of hocus pocus?

    Although I've still only just scratched the surface of this mod,(so many new things! :O) I'm already having tons of fun with it! From what I've seen so far you did a great job! Toying with the new weapon mechanics is not only very entertaining, but the damage and effectiveness of the weapons is surprisingly well-balanced.

    Also, at the moment I'm just discovering the new features as I go along, and it turns out it's actually pretty easy to figure out how to craft a lot of the new items. But just in case, was there some sort of a guide on where to get what that I looked over?
