Invalid Housing Problem

    OMGWTFPMCs Green Slime

    So I just finished carving out a moat below my base and, upon returning, found that seven of my NPC houses were now invalid.

    I've attached a picture with the houses in question marked, and the game isn't giving me any information besides 'this housing is invalid'

    If anyone knows why that would be great.

    Apparently it's a bug, there's some other threads with the same issue.

    Is that ebonstone along the edge of that cliff? Because I've heard rumors that NPCs will abandon housing near corruption.

    Any amount of ebonstone will cause nearby houses to become unsuitable. You should try mining it away and see if the problem persists.

    You may have missed some of the background walls in the houses, I can see a crack in the wall of the third one from the left, just above the table. As far as I have tested, any cracks in the walls will cause housing to become invalid.
    Also, I read somewhere else that a house to close to the corruption will give a message indicating that it is too close to it, instead of the housing is invalid message.
