Thats a very interesting idea! Hopefully the Devs can create something similar to that. I don't know but I'm joining in anyway. Yes!!! I totally agree =P
Hey congrats on the house man! Let me start by saying I can't count the number of hours my friend and I have sunk into playing Terraria. Even after you get all the awesome high-tier items, the creative aspect keeps my coming back night after night. (Just got my complete Hallowed Gear set, 100% legit, hell yes!) Flattery aside lmao... This is just a "shoot from the hip" kind of idea, but if we're going to have enemy factions/towns/cities etc, can we have an option to hire house defending NPCs (such as archers, swordsmen, etc. with a limited range to defend but not stray from the base). Nothing OP, make them cost some good $$, allow us to craft their gear from whatever we can make. That way when we go off fighting bosses, or mining down to hell for extended periods of time (IE: Adamantite... lol) we have at least some small protection? Set some kind of limiting factor on how many we can hire too, 1 archer 1 swordsman per say... 400 square tiles? (Just making up the number but you get the gist.) IDK, it's 6am, just my thoughts lol. Sorry for a sloppy first post lmao. I need some sleep. Oh also, I like the current non-slanted bricks... I mean maybe slanted bricks for stairs, but aside from that I really enjoy the look and feel of regular old 8-bit looking square tiles for my OCD with building things lmao. Also, for running/jumping up tiles, I mean better gear = less frustration. Just feels like progression to me. Get wings, and never worry about hitting those little 1x1 blocks that jut up from your flat runway to stop your flow.
Alien planets, Evil worlds, Another dimensions, Enemy factions, blah, blah, blah... So many promises, and only snow and (crappy) mechanics have been done. Thanks, Red, thanks for crushing our hopes.
i was SO looking forward to this! why tell us this in the first place if your just going to ditch us and run away with the money? this game could've been even more awesome..
Hopefully he will sell the rights to the game or even better, release the code into the public domain so we can pick it up and make it even better. I do know one thing, I for one will not be getting another of his projects, he dropped Super Mario Bros X just like this when it became popular, so........
Well, at least Super Mario Brothers X was a freeware game. If I remember correctly it was "To get his feet wet with programming" then he moved on to Terraria. I THINK he released the source for SMBX to a few individuals in the community to keep it going, but I haven't seen anything come of it :^(
Why would you love it even more? You're paying for some sprites and... that's it. Well hey, I guess the sheep will follow him to the next game.
You do of course realize Nintendo is one of the most aggressively protective corporations when it comes to their franchises right? There is no way a Mario game that was not developed by Nintendo would ever get even slightly popular without getting shut down the second Nintendo get's wind of it. And don't talk about game maker clones, I mean how is Nintendo supposed to check every single community and sub community on earth, they can only really find out about games that actually have any players. Now before the all out flames start on me, I in no way, shape, or form endorse what Red has done to this community or how he just up and left, that is a horrible thing to do at the start of your career. All I am saying is that it is not fair to fuel your dislike with the fact that a game using a copyright get's shut down. <3
hmm how about renaming the hell world The core and add a hell and heaven dimension with harder bosses, new items, and new mobs? huh. that will real nice...
