It's okay. That is what discussion forums are for.

Nobody is entitled to anything. We are not entitled to updates, nor are they entitled to be free from public scrutiny. That is a right you give up when you take on a public role.

They aren't REQUIRED to give us the time of day, of course. But nobody is saying it's required. It's just really bad business not to. Tell me - are your best friends the only ones who you bother showing a little common courtesy to?

    Awesome!! ^_^ I might buy one!! :D
  3. I really didn't want to start any grief on this topic. I apologize if I added any fuel to the fire. I will respond to this as respectfully and appropriately as possible, so:

First off, Terraria has received great updates so far. There's no denying that. There's also no denying that it has indeed been released. I will also not deny that, truly, I barely know anything about their other possible productions outside of Terraria, if there are any, but I can tell you this:

If a developer creates a game, updates it and adds stuff, and then stops doing that, but also doesn't go forward with any other major venture, it could be seen by the community, especially those stereotypical diehard fans, as the developer caring less and less about their own product(s).

That's not meant as an insult, threat, or a claim of "The man should forget his family and keep up the work". It's just a simple fact. I don't care if the next update is half a year from now, or if no word about anything related to such a thing is heard for months. I'm not saying it has to be immediate, I'm not even saying it has to happen relatively soon. I'm just saying, that if a developer just up and stops updating for good, there are fans who will frown upon it.

As for the other argument, let me pose to you myself: I'm not that important, but I spend a really regular amount of time online, and I usually try to be simple, straightforward, and polite with almost everyone I meet, even trolls, or such similar things. Even just associates who have nothing to do with my real life and affect me very little. It's just common courtesy.

Now apply that in a business, with the person in question being someone who has a relatively large fanbase to please(and believe me, fanbases can get really hard, even almost impossible or entirely impossible, to please completely). There needs to be at least some public fanbase interaction, even if it's just so much as a "How do you, do, we'll be back soon", or the fans start to lose hope in the developers. It's not just for gaming, many businesses rely heavily on social interaction with fanbases, customers, consumers, and even just the general public.

Anyway, I apologize to the devs, especially Red. If I recall what I read correctly, Red is having another kid. And he does deserve a break. So if anything I've said here has come across to him as negative, I apologize for that.

    Love and Peace, guys.

  5. Hm...maybe my way of thinking was wrong on this matter? Uncertain, but at least now I know why he doesn't respond a lot, and that in and of itself is a good thing.

Just like to say he never planned on Terraria getting so big. this was an experience game. he has learned a great deal on creating games. I paid $10. that money was well spent. I do not care that the game is done. I had fun now with his experience he can make a better game. and he is a guy who cares about making a good game not about money. He made very little income from the t-shirts anyways. he did not make the designs or buy the material and he did not make much money from them. they were for people who wanted them. If he really wanted to make money. this game could have sold for more. this game could have had DLC. I know you said you would pay more for it but thats just it, he does not care that he could make more money he cares about being interested in what he does, and he is interested in making a BETTER game. Maybe I am a teenager and just don't know anything, who knows, but at least I show respect.

hippie noodle you say? wow... because I have respect for him?
