    Hi,

    The Terraria Player Editor (TPE) is an offline character editor for changing a Terraria player file.
    The application is available here. (Thanks to jgallant for hosting.)

    The application is written in Java, so you will need to have that installed on your computer. The file reading and writing parts were written by Alyosha and I did the user interface. We patterned the look and feel after TerrariViewer, to whom we are very grateful.

    We realize that there is some controversy over players modifying their character and inventory - especially for use in multiplayer. We can't address this issue but there are many positive uses for our application. Our goals are to make using this application easy and reliable.

    Features:

    Version is updated to 1.09:
    • Version 1.09: Added action to remove world spawn points
    • Version 1.09: Added context menu (right-click) to set quantity to max
      • Not added for Buff - Terraria behaves poorly with '999' durations
    • Version 1.09: Changed Holy Water & Unholy Water to Weapon_Melee
    • Version 1.09: Changed Star to Miscellaneous
    • Version 1.09: Fixed max stack values of Mana Potions (20, 50, 99)
    • Version 1.08: Allows direct entry of color values (RGB)
    • Version 1.08: Chooser dialogs now movable
    • Supports Terraria version 1.1.2
    • Easy to use GUI:
      • Character: Name, Difficulty, Gender, Hair, Colors, Life, Mana
      • Equipment: Social, Armor, Accessories
      • Inventory: All Items, Coins, Ammo
      • Bank & Safe: All Items
      • Buffs: All Buffs, Debuffs, and States (Werewolf, Mermaid, etc.)
      • Item Chooser with images, categories, and word filter
      • Prefix Chooser with images and word filter
      • Buffs Chooser with images and word filter
    • Integration with the online wiki for info on items, prefixes, buffs via a right-click pop-up
    • Optional limits on character settings, item stacks, and prefix limits
    • Written in java for portability

    The structure of the application is intended to allow easy updates in the future. The lists of Items, Prefixes, and Buffs are simple text files. The images are listed in folders so new elements can be easily added. We plan to release updates as soon as possible when Terarria is updated.

    If you have any issues with or ideas for TPE, please post them.

    Thanks!

    It'd be cool if you had a settings menu thing that let us set our default player folder. It can never find mine (Probably due to running it on a Mac), so I have to manually navigate every time :c.

    The jar will run the application if you double click it, like you would an executable (.exe). You have to have java installed on your computer. If you don't have java, it will prompt you to search the web and install it.

    I have code that looks to see if your operating system is windows - if so, it sets the folder to the steam players folder.
    It looks like this:
    Code:
    if ( System.getProperty( "os.name" ).toLowerCase().contains( "windows" ) ) {
      folder = "My Games/Terraria/Players/";
    }

    If I find the for the path to where the player files are stored on a mac, I'll add a check for it.

    Thanks

    The Mac path is "~/My Games/Terraria/Players"

    There is no install process, run the .jar with java. It works right away.
