Terraria Online will always still be here!

We know the recent news about Redigit has upset a lot of our users and we know how much everyone here loves Terraria. Some brighter news - Redigit is going for a long holiday and someday will be back. We don't know if this will be many months, or a couple of years, but I can promise you he will be back someday.

All I can tell you is he's already started working on the planning of the new project. I can't tell you more on this project, but I can tell you its very real and very unique and will make a splash when it does get announced.

Till that day comes, we just want to offer some reinsurance that Terraria Online itself is not going anywhere period! We will always have our doors open to our community, our big family.

I think you guys should also, when burned out from Terraria's content, start checking out the mods section. I think you will find mods becoming even more popular and offering even more content to expand your Terraria game play indefinitely.

I'll still be making videos on future texture packs/mods/maps too, just because the game isn't updating doesn't mean I'll stop!

I agree. As long as people still come here and as long as I still have steam I will play terraria and visit these forums!

I'll continue to visit TO and develop on my modpack, developers or not. Terraria Online is a community, and a community doesn't depend on game's devs.

I am neither appeased, nor willing to buy Redigit's next game.
I will continue going on TO, though.

    10th!
EDIT : Hell yeah!!! Who got in top 10? Who?
EDIT2 : And after reading the post... Yea it sucks that Redigit has left us, but as long as Blue and others are making updates and Terraria is moving on everything is good enough.

Months or even couple of years? No, thanks

Without updates Terraria will be forgotten after 2-4 months

It is still unsettling... unless there is some way besides the mods to get new content now and then, I think most of us will move on.
But if you guys get the okay or ability to release official updates/patches (even if small ones) then I think all will return to normal.

Only if you allow it to be forgotten!

I will never forget about this great game, but without updates it becomes boring. I'm not going to make another character, it's just stupid and useless

I might not be very active but I spy on this site almost every hour. I hope someone will make some kind of content updates as mods!

He could have just sold/given the game to an other company.
I'm still mad on him for leaving us like that all of the sudden.

I don't want to just 'remember' Terraria like it was an uncle who passed away, I want it to continue living through updates and new content.

The devs need to consider transferring development of the game to someone else (i.e. Gaslamp Games, which has made an offer) or release the source code so the game can belong to the community instead of stagnating forever.
