I built a somewhat accurate-but-not-really-accurate-at-all imitation of TF2's 2Fort on the server for the Mechanic's Clan: POOTIS (Move your mouse to reveal the content) POOTIS (open) POOTIS (close) Obviously this is NOT the best imitation, and I'm open to ideas about what I can add(or take away) to make it look more like a 2D 2Fort. After building this, I had another idea; integrate some kind of TF2/Terraria mashup pvp system. For instance, make a Scout class that utilized Hermes Boots and Cloud In a Bottle; Heavy Weapons Guy could use a Mini/Megashark; and so on. Obviously this is kind of half-baked, which is why I'm asking for feedback from you guys. xD it's just a fun idea, not really too serious. What do you guys think? What items should the "classes" be equipped with? Edit: my ideas as to what the classes should be equipped with: The life crystals show how much health each class has. They're roughly equivalent to their TF2 health. Dude, no way. I had this EXACT same idea! I thought of a few classes but some of the weapons (spy knife, rocket launcher) will be hard to simulate. Demoman: Bombs, stickybombs, grenades Engie: Wires(and equipment) arrow traps, chest with potions(dispenser) Hoovy: Negative Prefix Minishartk with musket balls(or else will be OP) thats all i got so far
Scout: Shotgun - Cloud in a bottle Heavy: Megashark - Minishark Medic: Repeaters ( The crossbow that Medic has) - chainsaw (ubersaw ) Engineer: - Shotgun - Placeable statues - The only one that caries potions and he can give them to his partners Sniper: Repeater - shortsword (knife) Spy: Shortsword - Flintock pistol Pyro: Flamethrower - Axe Demoman: Grenades - bombs - dynamite We could work on it if you want too =D
Perhaps you could draw some ideas from Gang Garrison 2. It's a 2D TF2 demake, that has a good version of 2Fort in 2D.
Me gusta...Not really sure what to do about Medic though. I like the Engie idea though, except the enemies generated by the statues would attack *everyone* xD oh well. Edit: also, I agree with JPSimms' idea about the Hoovy...make it the worst Minishark combo ever or else it'll be OP
I think Heavy should just have Minishark, and maybe something else to simulate fists...copper broadsword, mayhaps? Medic is good though ^_^ Too bad pocket Medics won't work, though xD Edit: But for once, Pyro isn't UP anymore... QQ
Pyro should be with flamethrower. And about 100 gel =D Heavy about fists huh ? Umm ... a shortsword like you said sounds alright =D If you want to make something together (eg. map or the weapons) I would be glad to help.
I might take you up on that offer later...was thinking of making a Terraria-style Gravelpit (my favorite TF2 map) but I'm not sure how that would work out...

I think that Sniper should be given Repeater/Bow, since there's no Sniper Rifle(...yet) in Terraria. I like the Spy idea also...but there should be some rules as to when and where he can use the Excalibur. Don't want him to just spam the thing, now do we? also, I find it funny that now Solly is UP and Pyro is OP
