~New & Enhanced Biomes [WIP]~ This project is basically focused on creating new biomes, as shown below. The goal is to create working biomes that are not focused on adding completely radical content, overpowered gear, or hardmode-type items. Rather, the goal is to make the Terraria world feel more varied, not longer or shorter. After all, Terraria was built originally on the concept of exploration. Partners interested in helping with details, organization, recipes, and forum thread formatting are encouraged to 'apply' by making a note here. Spriting or coding experience isn't necessary, though it helps. What I have: new biome: Swamp https://dl.dropbox.com/u/9719966/terraria/SwampPack.obj -In a new world, this biome generates around the dungeon entrance. -Has a graveyard -Has leeches that creep in your inventory and giant leeches that jump around -Cute little frogs -Cobwebs everywhere have a chance to spawn a spider when broken. Tt poisons you and jumps around and makes more webs. What it needs: -What can leech-, frog-, spider-, and swamp-themed drops be? -What items can be crafted and what resources can be made? -There's a mandrake potion idea in the works. What should it do? -Other kinds of challenges New biome: Cloudland https://dl.dropbox.com/u/9719966/terraria/Fragile.obj -Generates cloud wall clouds in a band around floating island height -This cloud layer appears above the Jungle, due to heavy condensation there -Generates random solid cloud platforms that will randomly vanish -Cloud Bats and a Griffin NPC roam the skies (not heavily tested) What it needs: -Guide flavor text or other indication that there are clouds above the Jungle -Other enemies? -Other resources? -It probably blocks falling stars enhanced biome- Grass https://dl.dropbox.com/u/9719966/terraria/Grass.obj -grows medium and tall foreground grass -Grasshoppers can appear when tall grass is cut down what it needs: -more than that enhanced biome: Ocean https://dl.dropbox.com/u/9719966/terraria/Ocean.obj -The West Ocean will now grow pretty Coralstone reefs. This is the "left" ocean in Terraria, by the way. -Kelp can potentially grow as well, and is half-implemented -Coralstone items can be crafted; most require the presence of water -The Dropbox file also includes a variety of new items that have nothing to do with the ocean, but are simply included. The ocean pack is being worked on the most at the moment, which is why these items are included here. What it needs: -I can make more NPCs and things but why? -I have an octopus but i don't want to code the AI -I have a hermit crab too Testing and bug lists (Move your mouse to reveal the content) Testing and bug lists (open) Testing and bug lists (close) Specifics are useful. These are mainly for non-coders. The following things are untested. - Test to see if the Ballista is balanced for a new player - Are Coral Tipped Arrows actually going through water without hindrance? - Do Lava Earrings actually give lava resistance? - Can someone figure out the Feather Duster? - Test the Kelpweed Potion to see if it has bugs. - Test the Fireheart Potion (made from Fireblossom) to see if it has bugs. - Onyx Spikearmor set balanced? - Can all these items be made? - Is coral spawning in the ocean? - What buff should the Grasshopper give? - Suggest more ideas! - And any experiments you want to try. Remember, TRY to break the mod so we can FIX it! Bugs I've noted but haven't fixed will be listed here. -Tall grass doesn't drop tall grass -Coralstone drops dirt -Tall grass is irregular on edges of surfaces -Grasshopper doesn't drop Grasshopper -I don't see the Coral-Tipped Arrows working, but that might just be bad perception? -Kelp isn't growing -Coralstone isn't growing, I don't think? -Coralstone maybe in both oceans?
